The Hajj registration under government and private management will begin on Wednesday.

According to the religious affairs ministry and the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh, depositing money for the Hajj registration will also begin on that day and continue till February 23, 2023.

Aspirant pilgrims must abide by a number of conditions in order to register, one of which is that their passports must be valid till December 31, 2023.

Additionally, any extra charges imposed by the Saudi government will be added to the price of the Hajj package and those are the responsibility of the Hajj pilgrim. In case of unused money, it will be refunded.

Every intended haji will be required to deliver their passport and Covid vaccination certificate to the Ashkona Hajj Office in the capital within three days of completing registration.

Health examination, meningitis and influenza vaccination certificate will also be required.

The minimum cost of performing Hajj this year under private agencies was fixed at Tk 6.72 lakh — which is about 1.5 lakh taka more than the last year.

Apart from this, every pilgrim will have to pay a certain amount of money for a Qurbani (sacrificial animals) coupon from the Islamic Development Bank in Saudi Arabia.
