BNP movement just a bluff: Quader

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said BNP’s processions and rallies aiming to oust the government are nothing but a bluff.

The “sick movement” of BNP is now in the hospital, he said while addressing a rally organised by the Dhaka city (north) Awami League in Badda Notun Bazar area.

“We never indulge in sick politics. The BNP creates a fake political situation … The BNP does not have a leader to lead its movement. I urge the BNP to see [AL programmes] and learn how to gather activists and create a sea of people,” he added.

Quader also said, “The BNP has become restless, lodging complaints one after another with the US embassy.”

Regarding the US sanctions on the Rapid Action Battalion, Quader said, “Donald Lu said Bangladesh has progressed enough and that no new sanction will be imposed even if the ban is not officially lifted.”

Quader, also the road, transport and bridges minister said, “There will be a game in the next general election slated for January [2024] against those who had rigged elections previously.”
